Family Pupz ("we," "us," or "our") operates a suite of mobile applications designed to help dog owners and their trainers build better habits, track progress, and strengthen the bond between people and their pets.

This Privacy Policy applies to all Family Pupz apps and explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using any Family Pupz app, you agree to the practices described here.

3. What Data We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: Your name and role (client or trainer) when you create a profile.
• Pet information: Your dog's name, breed, and age — used to personalize your experience.
• Training logs: Session notes, wins, difficulties, questions, mood ratings, and session types you enter manually.
• Videos: Short training videos you choose to upload (Training Notes only, 1-minute maximum). These are stored locally on your device in V1.
• Potty logs: Times and types of bathroom events you record (Potty Pattern).
• Sound exposure sessions: Which sounds you played and session duration (Sound School).

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: App interactions such as screens visited and features used — collected only to improve app performance, never for advertising.
• Device information: Device type and operating system version for compatibility purposes.

Information we do NOT collect

• Precise location data
• Contacts or address book
• Health or biometric data
• Payment or financial information (handled entirely by Apple)
• Any data from children under 13

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the information collected solely to:

• Operate and improve the Family Pupz apps
• Enable trainer-client communication within Training Notes
• Display your progress, streaks, and training history
• Send training reminders and homework assignments (Training Notes)
• Calculate potty predictions (Potty Pattern)
• Remember your sound exposure progress (Sound School)

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

Within Training Notes

When you use Training Notes, the information you log in a session — including notes, ratings, questions for your trainer, and any video you upload — is shared with your assigned Family Pupz trainer. This is the core function of the app and you consent to this sharing by using it.

Trainer responses, feedback, and guidance videos are shared back to you in the same way.

Service providers

We may share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate our apps (such as cloud storage or analytics). These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

6. Data Storage & Security

In the current version of our apps, most data is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. This means your training logs, potty records, and sound sessions remain on your phone and are not transmitted to external servers unless you are using trainer-connected features in PupProgress.

We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you delete the app, locally stored data will be permanently removed from your device. We recommend noting any important training history before uninstalling.

7. Children's Privacy

Our apps are designed for adults and are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at the address below and we will take steps to delete that information.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your training data in a readable format
• Opt out of any non-essential data collection

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are in the European Economic Area, you may have rights under GDPR. Contact us for more information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our apps evolve. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we will notify users through an in-app notice or email (if we have your email address). Continued use of our apps after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
